You cannot pay the passport renewal fee with cash and include it in the mail when submitting your passport renewal application. Pay with credit card on the website when I fill out the application online for your United States Passport in Ecuador
As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, when renewing your How to Renew your United States Passport in Ecuador online using the DS-82 form on the U.S. Department of State’s website, you could pay the passport renewal fee with a credit or debit card. However, payment methods and options may change over time, and the U.S. Department of State may have updated their procedures and payment options since then.

U.S. Passport Pickup
Regular U.S. Passport – Pick-up
Once the your United States Passport in Ecuador is approved, it can take up to 60 calendar days for the passport to be printed in the United States and sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. You may receive your new passport and/or CRBA by DHL Passback Service, or you pick up your passport in person, see details below.
If you have applied by mail, the only option would be to receive your passport by the DHL Passback Service.
DHL Passback Service
You may choose to have your passport returned to you via DHL. You would need to contact DHL directly to set up the service. The payment may not be made at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate and the DHL delivery fee is approximately $22.00 plus VAT (I.V.A.).

Once the Embassy/Consulate receives your new U.S. passport, you will receive a notification that you may begin tracking your passport via DHL’s website. DHL will deliver passports to their offices in mainland Ecuador within five working days and to the Galapagos Islands within eight working days.
If you are applying or have applied for an adult passport renewal: We remind you that you will need to send a separate waybill for each application. If you are applying for a passport book and a passport card in the same application, you will need to send a separate waybill to receive your passport card. If we do not receive a waybill for your passport card, your passport card application will not be processed.

- Proof of relationship between the child and the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) accompanying them.
- Parental identification (valid U.S. passport, driver’s license, or other government-issued ID).
- Passport photo of the child (typically 2×2 inches).
- Passport fees. Check the current fee on the U.S. Department of State’s website.
- Schedule an Appointment: Contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Ecuador to schedule an appointment for the child’s passport application. Passport services are generally available by appointment only.
- Appear in Person: Both parents or legal guardians must accompany the child to the appointment. If one parent cannot be present, they should provide a notarized consent form (Form DS-3053) along with a copy of their ID.
